CIELO BSR

2011 Grey Canadian Warmblood Gelding

Sire: Carthago Sun I (Carthago x Schampus xx)

Dam: Spirits Singh (Singh America xx x Barbaric Spirit xx)

Breeder: Buffalo Skins Ranch

Cielo BSR (barn name: Cielo) is a lovely gelding with countless achievements in the hunters, jumpers, and equitation.  He was bred with the goal of producing an amateur-friendly jumper but he has proven to be incredibly versatile with numerous wins in the jumpers up to 1.10m, as well as countless ribbons in the hunter and equitation rings including while leased to junior riders.  Cielo has his own motor without being hot or strong and is brave to the fences.  He is a team player, takes care of his rider, and jumps from anywhere.  Cielo has winning miles at 1.10m in such A-rated venues as: Spruce Meadows, Rocky Mountain Show Jumping, and Thunderbird Show Park.  He is not spooky of jump fill, including liverpools and natural elements.  A pleasure to own and show, he requires zero prep to excel in the show ring.  Cielo loves to win and is a strong competitor, no matter which ring he is showing in.  Cielo is well-schooled on the flat, including lateral movements, counter canter, and flying changes.  He is a friendly horse who loves cuddles and attention and he has a great personality, making him a barn favourite.

Cielo's dam was purchased as a Young Riders Eventing mare but her sport career was unfortunately cut short due to a pasture accident at only eight years old.  She produced four lovely foals, Cielo being her only colt.  She was an athletic, smart, brave mare and she passed these characteristics on to her foals.  Cielo's sire, Carthago Sun I, was purposefully bred to complement the North American Thoroughbred mare of the time.  He competed at 1.30m and sired a number of competitive amateur-friendly horses throughout Canada.  Carthago Sun I descends from excellent Holsteiner lines and stamps his offspring with rideability, scope, and confidence.
